The Visiting Team is made up of eight visitors and, at the moment, we visit sixteen folk in the church community, bringing companionship and support. For a variety of reasons, those we call to see aren't able to get out and about as they used to and, consequently, a cheerful face and a 'natter' in, what is often a lonely day, can make a big difference. And, from the many comments given, we know too that the visits are very much appreciated. If you know of anyone who might benefit from a visit do please contact us.

Members of the Visiting Team also take Home Communions to those who are unable to come to a church service.  Please contact us if you know of someone who would like Home Communion.

They also pay regular visits to residents of  Beaumont Care Home in Stamford Bridge,  Weekly services are conducted there, alternating between Stamford Bridge Methodist Church and St John the Baptist Anglican Church.  If you, or someone you know is a resident and would like a visit, please let us know.

Home Communions are available to anyone in the community who, for whatever reason and, whether long or short term, isn't able to attend a Communion service in one of the churches. The short service is taken monthly to folk in their own homes either by the Revd Fran Wakefield or two other Lay members of the church. Please contact us if you know of someone who would like Home Communion.

Mothers' Union

In Stamford Bridge there are 30 members who meet every fourth Thursday in the month at 2.00pm. They have interesting speakers; an outing, plus fundraising events. To celebrate the year end they finish with an Advent Tea. Visitors and new members are always welcome to come for a chat and a cup of tea.

Fair Trade

We are registered with the Fair Trade Foundation as a Fair Trade church.

This means we have committed to:
a)         Using Fair Trade tea and coffee after services and in all meetings for which we have responsibly.
b)         Move forward on using other Fair Trade products such a sugar, biscuits and fruit.
c)         Promote Fair  Trade funding Fair Trade Fortnight and during the year through events, worship and other activities whenever possible.

We promote Fair and Just Trade at events we are involved in, and work with the primary school and various groups in the village to develop awareness.

We support the campaign for Trade Justice, and encourage people to take action such as E-mailing or writing politicians to
make them aware of our concern for justice.

You can keep in touch with Trade Justice and Fairtrade campaign issues by looking at the Fair Trade foundation and Traidcraft websites, as well as those of Christian Aid, Action Aid, and other members of the Trade Justice Movement

Fundraising

All three churches are responsible for their own fundraising. Locally they hold coffee mornings; craft fairs; open gardens; sponsored cycle rides; discos; quiz night
